ISTITUTO ORTOPEDICO RIZZOLI - Treatment at Rizzoli

The Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute has activated an orthopaedic teleconsultation service to minimize the inconvenience of travelling and relevant expense incurred by patients living far from Emilia-Romagna who want to be examined by a specialist from Rizzoli. In fact, by a system of video conferencing the physician can examine the patient even though they are not physically in the same place.

This service is run by of HIM.IT based on a network of external tele-surgeries operating within the National Health Service (health centres, hospitals and outpatients clinics), which cover every region in Italy. International connections are also possible provided that the necessary teleconsultation equipment is available.

How to use the service

The patient can book by calling +39-051-6366907 between 9.00 am and 01.00 pm and 03.00-06.00 pm (operators also speak English). 

The Call Center operator will provide the necessary instructions to set up the teleconsultation correctly, which will take place within a few days of booking, on a free-lance basis (a fee will be charged). On the agreed day, the patient will be connected audio-visually with the Rizzoli physician. This physician will perform the examination and speak to the patient.
