In 2006, the review BBA Mol. Cell Biol. Lipids (among the “top-ten” reviews in Biology and Biochemistry, according to the ISI Science Watch) dedicated to Prof. Manzoli the Special Issue “Lipid Signaling in the nucleus”, of which he is also Honorary Editor.
He is author of 170 print publications on international and national reviews with audit committee. Total Impact Factor (ISI –JCR 2005) 403; quotes in the last 10 years (ISI-JCR 2005) 1427.

Clinical and/or Scientific interests

The main topics of his scientific activities regard:

  • The structure of biological membranes, especially of cellular, nuclear, mitochondrial membranes, membrane of the ergastoplasmic reticulum, of the Golgi apparatus, of the synaptic small blisters and of myelin sheath;
  • Interaction between macro and micro molecules, in particular between the DNA and histones with phospholipids;
  • The structure of Chromatin;
  • Analysis of nuclear signals;
  • Structure and functions of lymphocytes B and T.
