Umberto I Library - Terms of use

The library is restricted to doctors, medical students and health workers (including physiotherapy, anatomical designers and nurses etc.). Nevertheless, the staff are there to help all those searching for medical material.

A special form must be filled out in order to consult texts or obtain photocopies. A member of staff will provide the user with any material requested. Self access to the shelves is forbidden.

Services

Periodicals

For the years 1967-1982, the journal 'Bibliografia Ortopedica', provides an indexed selection of orthopedic science articles taken from the journals owned by the library and compiled by the librarians according to topics.
From 1983 - 1990 the orthopedic bibliography is available as index cards that can be consulted at the library itself.
The catalogue of periodicals owned by the library is available in paper version, but also online at the ACNP site of the University of Bologna.

Monographs and Treaties

Available is the paper catalogue of authors (under the Italian Rules of categorising Authors) and at this moment is also being computerized according to author and subject.

Loan

Loaning applies only to monographs and is restricted to medical staff, doctors and paramedics.

Photocopying

Guglielmo da Saliceto, Primo libro della chirurgia, sec.XIV, detailThe library has a photocopying service at - 0.15 plus postage per A4 page, operating under copyright law.
The photocopying is done by the staff.

The copied material is given out in two methods:
- By post C.O.D.
- Collection at library after paying at the ticket office,
Monday - Friday 8:20 to 12:20am and 2:35 to 4:35pm
