• 1995 – 2001: researcher at Laboratory of Medical Technology, Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute.
• 2002 – 2005: supervisor of the experimental investigations related to mechanical characterization of biomaterials and pre-clinical validation of implantable joint prostheses.
• 2006 – to date: coordinator of the ‘Mechanics of Biomaterials and Biological Tissues’ unit.
• 2012 – to date: supervisor of the experimental investigation related to mechanical characterization of engineered tissue at the Prometeo Laboratory.

Expert in the field of mechanical measurements, characterization of mechanical behaviour of tissues and biomaterials, pre-clinical validation of implantable devices.

My research interests are mainly focused on designing testing procedures for testing biological tissue or biomaterials.
I have some national and international collaborations, and I played or am playing a role both in national and international research projects.
I published several papers in ISI indexed international journals.
I am a Referee for some Journals in the field of Biomechanics.
I am a member of the European Society for Biomechanics

My research interests include experimental techniques to determine the mechanical behaviour of biological tissues at a multi-scale level.
