Clinical and/or Scientific interests

Biochemical aspects of signal transduction, autophagy, growth, differentiation, apoptosis and senescence of human cells in relation to osteoarthritis (OA). Epigenetic changes in degenerative pathologies, role of microRNAs. Nutritional elements and bioactive components in foods: their role in the prevention of OA. Experimental models: 1) primary cultures of chondrocytes derived from OA patients and chondrocyte-derived cell lines (C28/I2), treated with various pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory stimuli.
